Investment Professional - Venture Capital

About the Role

We are seeking an Investment Professional to join our client's venture capital team in Tokyo. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and innovation, sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities in cutting-edge sectors.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate investment opportunities in target sectors including AI, robotics, mobility, semiconductors, and emerging technologies
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investments
• Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and industry stakeholders
• Monitor and support portfolio companies post-investment
• Prepare investment memos and presentations for investment committees
• Represent the fund at industry events and conferences

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or startup operations
• Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate business models, market opportunities, and financial projections
• Deep interest in technology and innovation trends
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese (business level)
• Proven ability to build relationships with entrepreneurs and industry professionals
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Nice to Have

• Experience in technology sectors such as AI, robotics, semiconductors, or mobility
• Existing network within the startup ecosystem
• Experience working in or with early-stage companies
• Track record of successful investments or exits
